Tic-Tac-Toe Vegas is an online Flash game where players must use a 3 by 3 set of squares to create matches of three X's or O's. Although standard rules apply, the player can choose to play against a computer or another person.
If you don't know how to play tic-tac-toe, we may have to throw you off the boat. If you're not on a boat, we'll find one and throw you off it. You'd seriously have to be living under a rock to have never heard of it. We digress. It's time to revive a childhood favorite, Vegas-style.
Could it really be as simple as that? Can tic-tac-toe Vegas-style be the same as regular tic-tac-toe? Apparently, it can. It's just got some fancier graphics. The start screen is lit up with neon lights and the words “Tic-Tac-Toe Vegas.” It's like its daring you to enter a seedy bar where your moral character will be tested in a childhood game. While we're absolutely sure that this place exists somewhere, that's not where we're at. We're playing on a computer, so your moral character is in good hands.
Players must select who they'd like to play against before starting. Should you choose the computer opponent, it's as simple as discovering the formula for victory. The AI opponent isn't terribly smart, is what we're saying. However, human players can be equally faulty when it comes to this trick. The hard part comes when you've found another player who knows the same formula. That's when it gets really interesting. You could spend hours trying to outwit the other human player, but in the end, one of you will eventually lose because you messed up.
We also neglected to mention that the other player will be right next to you, as this version doesn't support online multiplayer. Tic-Tac-Toe was destroying friendships way before Monopoly was, so have fun soothing that one over.
It's kind of exhilarating, bringing this game up again. Hours and hours were spent in your younger years furiously writing the tic-tac-toe board out on every scrap of paper you could find, and now it's become even more fun. Rather than killing hundreds of trees to play your favorite game, all you have to do is load up the screen and voila! You're all set for a few rounds of tic-tac-toe. Although an online multiplayer could do this game a lot of good, it's still nostalgic to play against a friend or family member who remembers the good ol' days.
